Local customs & good to know
- Bring water and sun protection — The archaeological reserve is open and spread out with little shade, so prepare for walking under the sun.
- Respect the ruins — Stay on paths and do not climb on fragile ancient foundations, which are protected national heritage.
- Have a car or arranged transport — Public transport to the site is limited, so driving from Shumen or Kaspichan is the most reliable option.
- Allow time for the whole reserve — The site is large and distances between monuments are significant, so plan at least a couple of hours.
