Rozhen Monastery

A picturesque medieval monastery perched above the Melnik sandstone landscape, one of the best-preserved in Bulgaria. It features remarkable frescoes, wood carvings and stained glass amid a tranquil mountain setting.

• Respect photography rules — Photography of the frescoes and interior may be restricted, so ask before taking pictures inside the church.
