• Dress modestly — Cover shoulders and knees, as Jebel Akhdar villages are conservative and you may pass local homes on the trails.
• 4x4 required — The steep mountain road up to the plateau is legally restricted to four-wheel-drive vehicles at the police checkpoint.
• Respect private terraces — The falaj-irrigated gardens are working farms, so stay on marked paths and ask before picking fruit or flowers.
• Bring warm layers — At high altitude temperatures drop sharply after sunset, so a jacket is essential for evening viewpoint visits.
