Local customs & good to know
- Respect the Chianca Amara — The massacre rock is considered a memorial—behave reverently when visiting.
- Park Outside Town in Summer — Vieste's old centre is largely closed to cars July–August; use the paid lots on the outskirts.
- Explore the Caruggi — The narrow whitewashed alleyways of the old town are best explored on foot in the cool of the morning.
