History
South Gyeongsang Province has been a vital region of Korean civilization since ancient times, serving as the heartland of the Silla Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period and later becoming a center of Buddhist culture. During the Joseon Dynasty, the region developed into a prosperous agricultural and trading hub, while its coastal areas became important ports for maritime commerce. The province suffered significantly during the Korean War, but rebuilt itself to become an industrial and manufacturing center in modern South Korea.
